Mark order at first production

Hello SAP-gurus,

I have a requirement to mark a production order if it is the first production order for a certain material number.

I know I can do this using a separate order type, which triggers a separate range to number the production order. (e.g. first production order: 2xxxxx, regular production orders: 1xxxxx) This method however has a disadvantages: the planner, who creates the order, cannot know this is the first order.

Do you have any other options to mark a production order with some parameter automatically?
