Dear team,
I have a question regarding the possibility of using SAP Tools for MS SQL Server for system copy.
(System: SAP ERP 2004, SP 17 for SAP_BASIS 6.40).
In 683447 - SAP Tools for MS SQL Server
If not stated differently in this note, all the STM services delivered with the SWPM tool can be applied for R/3 4.6C, R/3 4.7 as well as for all SAP products based on NW 6.40 and higher.
You use the SAP Tools for MS SQL Server to:
- Perform a system copy using the detach/attach or backup/restore method.
This only applies to SAP systems based on kernel 6.40 or lower. If you have an SAP system based on kernel 7.0 or higher, you must perform the system copy with SAPinst.
whereas in 1825382 - SAP Release Note for SL Toolset 1.0 SPS09
Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP04 (SWPM....SAR) supports installation and system copy for:
- SAP NetWeaver 7.4
- SAP NetWeaver 7.3 / 7.3 incl. Enhancement Package 1
- SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.2
- SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Support Release 5 / 7.1 incl. Enhancement Package 1
- SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1 / 7.1 incl. Enhancement Package 1
- SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 Support Release 1 / 7.1 incl. Enhancement Package 1
- SAP NetWeaver 7.1 / 7.1 incl. Enhancement Package 1 for Banking Services from SAP
- SAP Business Suite 2013 based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4
- SAP Business Suite on HANA based on SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.4 for Suite
- SAP Business Suite 7 / 7 Innovations 2010 / 7 Innovations 2011 JAVA based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 / 7.3 incl. Enhancement Package 1
Actually, I find this a bit contradictory. So, can we conclude that these tools can not be used for this case?
Kindly asking your opinions on this
Best regards,
Shkelzen
